Commanding your opponents

OBEY is an asymmetrical multiplayer game where you give orders to human opponents instead of AI units. Every player can choose to obey or disobey, and each person lives with the outcome of that choice. The goal is to finish the round with more money than anyone else. You get there by bribing and coercing other players into acting against their own interests. If someone is coercing you, your tools are stealth, intelligence, trickery, and creativity.

Taking the robot

The big money comes from the giant robot. Walk into the door at its base to take control, and the robot player earns 10x what the others earn per second. From inside, you can destroy anyone you see approaching, but only if you actually see them. Shooting everything that move works against new players, but experienced opponents will turn it around on you. The stronger play is to keep opponents controlled rather than hidden and working to subvert you.

Playing as the bunny

As a bunny, charging the robot over and over against an experienced robot player means spending most of the round waiting to spawn. The game rewards trickery, stealth, and intelligence instead of blind guns-blazing rushes. You are a baby bunny against an enormous mecha-canon-turret, so use what you have. Remember that you are playing against other human beings, who cannot be fooled as easily as AI.
