Three minutes of tag with a twist

Bail or Jail is a fast asymmetrical tag match that ends within 3 minutes. One player takes the Monster role, and three players are the Human team. The Monster has to lock all Humans into the holding cell before the clock runs out. The Humans only need to stay out of it until time expires. That single timer drives every decision in the round: the Monster hunts hard and closes off escape routes, while the Humans split up, stall, and keep each other alive.

Playing together as Humans or Monster

Rounds work online and offline in groups of up to 4 players, so a group can rotate who gets stuck being the Monster. Humans are not limited to running and hiding. Each character has skills and traits, which lets a group build plans around what they brought into the match rather than just reacting. If a Human gets caught in a bad spot, activating the lantern stuns the Monster and can flip the situation back in the Humans' favor. That gives cornered players a real tool for saving themselves and their teammates.

On the other side, the Monster's strength comes from unique abilities. Slipping through walls, detecting footprints, and other Monster skills let it close in when the Humans think they are safe. Playing the Monster rewards patience and reading where the other team will go, since one player is covering the whole map against three.

Before you start

Expect short, tense rounds rather than long matches. Every round is a contest of positioning: Humans bail their teammates out of trouble and keep moving, while the Monster looks for the moment they bunch up or commit to a route. Character skills and traits matter on both sides, so a group that swaps roles between rounds gets a different feel each time. The setup suits groups that want quick sessions they can jump into and replay, with the roles split unevenly on purpose.
