Guards versus thieves
Of Guards and Thieves is a top-down multiplayer stealth game where two sides play by different rules. Guards are powerful and well armed, while thieves are fast and hard to pin down. Each round is a contest of wits: you can sneak past the enemy, use the environment to your advantage, or fight your way straight to the objective. The rules stay simple, but the situations that come out of them change every match.
Playing together with your group
The game supports online co-op and online PvP, so your group can team up or split into opposing sides. Rich tactical teamplay matters here: Operators come with their own Gadgets, Weapons, and play style, which gives your group room to build a lineup that covers different roles. Private lobby hosting lets you set up a match with just your friends, and dedicated servers keep the games running smoothly. Between matches you can explore the Map Workshop, which holds thousands of user-made maps.
Before you start
There are lots of Competitive and Fun game modes to choose from, plus a huge selection of Operators to unlock and customize, including weapon aesthetics. An innovative dynamic lighting system and an interactive environment feed into the stealth side of play, so paying attention to light and cover is worth it. A leveling system with experience points and 80 unlockable levels gives you something to work toward as you learn the deeper tactics. The game is easy to pick up but hard to master, so expect a learning curve once you go up against players who know the maps.
