What Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate contains
Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate bundles the base game with Kombat Pack 1, the Aftermath Expansion and Kombat Pack 2, so you get both Story Campaigns and the full 37-fighter roster in one package. The two time-bending campaigns follow Earthrealm's protectors as they try to stop Kronika from rewinding time and rebooting history. Alongside the campaign you get every mode: Towers of Time, the Krypt, Klassic Towers and Online. The roster mixes new and returning Klassic fighters, plus the guest fighters Terminator, Joker, Spawn and RoboCop, along with Mileena, Rain and Rambo. On top of that there are thousands of skins, weapons and gear to work with, and the stages include stage fatalities, brutalities, iconic fatalities and friendships.
Playing it with your friends
The game supports online PvP, so two people can match up and fight directly over the internet. If everyone is in the same room, shared and split screen PvP lets you play side by side. Remote Play Together is available too, which lets a friend join your session through streaming, and Remote Play also works on phone, tablet and TV. Steam Achievements track your progress, and Steam Cloud carries your saves between machines. Custom Volume Controls, a Keyboard Only Option and narrated game menus are built in, along with full controller support, so the group can settle on whatever setup suits them.
Before you start
Fighters are customizable through Custom Character Variations, which change how your character plays, and the skins, weapons and gear let you tune appearances as well. Expect a fighting game built around learning matchups, spacing and timing against real opponents rather than a cooperative mode — the Steam tags list Co-op, but the play described here is versus. The game includes In-App Purchases, so some content is sold separately from the base purchase. Audio runs in stereo and surround, HDR is available, and the menus are narrated if you prefer that.
