A 2D fighter from the FATAL FURY line
GAROU: MARK OF THE WOLVES is the latest entry in the FATAL FURY series, brought back for Steam by SNK CORPORATION and Code Mystics. It is a classic 2D fighting game with pixel graphics, built around one-on-one bouts. In Arcade mode you pick from 12 (+2) characters and fight through the "King of Fighters: Maximum Mayhem" tournament, held in Second Southtown. Three battle mechanics shape the fights: the T.O.P. System, Just Defended, and Breaking. Learning how these work is the core of the game, so use Training mode first to work on combos and strategies with the characters you like before entering a real match.
Fighting your friends online
Multiplayer runs through Steam, with "Invite a Friend" and "Lobby" features so you can set up matches against people you know or others online. The game is tagged as competitive, so expect tight, skill-based rounds where reading your opponent matters as much as your inputs. Leaderboards let you check your own rank and score at any time, and see where your friends and other top fighters stand.
Before you start
Settings cover video options, controls and volume, so set those up to suit your setup before your first fight. Note that the game will not run on Windows XP. If you want to play on one screen with someone else, Remote Play Together is listed as a supported feature.
