Build levels and share them with everyone
MakerKing is a 2D platformer built around a level editor. You place objects from a set of more than 65 game pieces that interact with each other, wire them together into puzzles, and drop in mobs you assemble yourself with the mob maker. The same pieces are available for free, so the difference between what you make and what someone else makes comes down to how you use them. Wires let you set up complicated puzzle logic, and the frisbee and magic carpet give you different movement options to design around.
The finished levels land in a level browser, so the community's catalog keeps growing and you can pick up whatever other people have made. Leaderboards and stats track performance on every level, with global ranking on top of that.
Play together in real time
The whole experience runs multiplayer, so a level is not a solo trip through your own creation. Your group can discover levels together in real time, run them side by side, and compare times. Racing mode is available on all levels, which means any level anyone builds can also be raced, whether it was made as a puzzle, a platforming challenge, or something else. PvP online play is on offer alongside the shared browsing and building side of things.
Before you start
Character customization is included in a basic free set, with cosmetics available as paid options. That is how the game funds itself while staying free to win, so nothing you pay for changes how well you play.
Controller support and input binding are built in, so you can set controls to whatever feels right before diving into a precise platforming section. The game is in Early Access, so expect things to still be moving and changing as development continues.
