A fantasy RPG with pixel heroes in 3D stages
LAST CLOUDIA is a fantasy RPG set in Granzelia, a world where people live alongside magical beasts. Long ago the God of Ruin ruled the land until the hero Adel and the goddess Lilaha joined forces to seal it away. In the centuries since, Adel's bloodline built the Aldana Empire, which has ruled peacefully — until strange beast attacks start surging. The 12th Order knight Kyle and the magical beast Rei set out on a mission, and neither realizes it is the start of a battle that will shake the world. Battles are real-time and fast, with pixel-art characters sweeping through 3D playspaces, backed by cinematic effects, animation and a sweeping soundtrack. Characters are voiced by famous Japanese voice actors in battle, when powering up, on the Home screen and elsewhere.
Building your team and playing through the story
The game leans on a deep character-building system: rather than only collecting strong characters, you train the ones you like and shape their stats yourself. That means picking who to bring, deciding how to develop them, and gearing them up before a fight. When you would rather not grind by hand, hands-free autoplay lets you gear up your team and send them out to collect power-up materials on their own. Story content is a big part of the package, with a sprawling tale told through the pixel-art characters and 3D backgrounds, so there is plenty to work through between fights.
Playing together and what to know first
LAST CLOUDIA supports Online Co-op, so you can team up with others for its action combat rather than running everything solo. It is a Free To Play title, so expect the usual structure of a free-to-start RPG when you install it. Before you start, be aware that the game mixes JRPG character progression and story with spectacle-fighter style real-time action, so a chunk of your time goes into building and equipping characters as much as into the battles themselves. If you like anime-styled fantasy with a long narrative thread and fast pixel-art combat, this is the shape of the experience.
