What Indie Pogo is

Indie Pogo is a 2D platform brawler built around bouncing. You fight on stages with a pogo stick, ricocheting off surfaces and slamming down on opponents to knock them out. The game is retro-inspired and uses pixel graphics, with a soundtrack tagged as one of its strong points. It plays like a fighting game crossed with a platformer: movement is mostly vertical, and controlling your bounces is the core skill.

The roster comes from a collaboration of more than 50 indie studios across 15 countries, so the cast is a crossover of characters from other indie games. You enter different worlds and fight through them rather than staying in one arena style.

Playing together

Local multiplayer supports 2-4 players on one setup, which is the straightforward way to gather a group in the same room. Online play lets you battle opponents from around the globe and climb the ladder, so a group can also compete remotely. Remote Play Together is available, which lets friends join a local session over the internet.

There is also a singleplayer option for when nobody else is around to play.

Before you start

Expect a fast, movement-heavy fighter where the main mechanic is bouncing rather than traditional ground-based combos. Rhythm and positioning matter more than button mashing, since every jump and ricochet commits you to a trajectory. The crossover roster means characters come from different games with different feel, so it is worth trying several before settling on one.

The game is tagged as both a platformer and a 2D fighter, so it sits between those two genres: stages matter, edges matter, and being knocked off or pogoed into oblivion ends the stock.
