A platform fighter built for big fights

Brawlhalla is a platform fighter for up to 8 players, played online or on the same screen. You pick a Legend and knock opponents off the stage — last ones standing win the round. The roster holds over sixty Legends, and more arrive over time. You get a werewolf with ice powers, a space warrior who controls black holes, a trickster god with a very large pet snake, a fairy queen riding a war beetle, and many more. Crossover characters show up too, so a match can put SpongeBob SquarePants and Darth Vader against John Cena and Mega Man, or Aang and Tiny Tina against Rayman and Lara Croft.

Playing together as a group

Invite friends to a private room when you want your own lobby, or queue up for casual free-for-alls where everyone is out for themselves. If your group prefers teams, Ranked covers 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3. Beyond ranked play there are party modes: Capture the Flag and Volleybrawl for a change of pace, and Horde and Walker Attack where you try to survive as long as you can. Shared and split screen lets several people play on one machine, and cross-platform play means friends on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android and Steam can end up in the same match regardless of what they own. Server regions around the world keep matches close to where you play.

Before you start

Brawlhalla is free to play, and it stays that way — the store text states it is 100% free to play. Expect frequent updates, which means the roster and modes keep shifting over time. Controller support covers DualShock and DualSense, with partial controller support listed as well. Steam Achievements and Steam Trading Cards are available for the Steam version. Remote Play is supported on phone, tablet and TV, and Remote Play Together lets others join your session remotely. It runs on PC, Mac, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android.
