A televised space gladiator brawl
Hot Shot Burn is a top-down party brawler where space gladiators fight in the galaxy's ultimate televised blood sport. You pick a hero and try to be the last one standing in an arena built for chaos. The roster includes an ass-whooping space wrestler, a deadly moth assassin, and one very confused fluffy alien, and each character has unique skills and playstyles, so finding your match is part of the fun. Fights are fast and unpredictable: teleport, turn invisible, bounce bullets off walls, or shoot them straight through walls. The show is broadcast to a live studio audience that cheers you on while the commentator makes fun of your tights.
Playing together
Matches run for 2-4 players, and you can play on the couch, online, or both at once, so you can mix friends in the room with friends joining remotely. The whole setup is built around short, chaotic rounds where ridiculous flukes and insane skill shots decide who walks away the winner. Loads of arenas each come with their own hazards and rules, and mutators can warp reality and turn a match on its head, which keeps repeat sessions from feeling the same. The art style is vibrant and inspired by Saturday morning cartoons, and the soundtrack is thumping synthwave.
Before you start
Expect a competitive, fast-paced arcade shooter rather than a slow tactical one — the game openly encourages you to win at all costs, ignoring fair play and the laws of physics if that's what it takes. It's a good fit for a group that wants short rounds with loud, silly outcomes instead of long campaigns. Characters differ enough that a quick round-robin through the roster helps everyone find a hero that suits them, and the arena hazards and mutators mean the same matchup can play out very differently from one round to the next.
