What Hamster Hustle is
Hamster Hustle is an online party game where you play as a hamster in a set of playground games. The two modes are tag and king of the hill. In tag, being "it" is the last thing you want, so you dodge, dash and push to avoid getting tagged. In king of the hill, you push your way to the top and hold your ground. Matches are quick, around 5 minutes, and the length can be adjusted in game. The game runs on 10+ maps of different sizes and styles, so rounds stay varied even when you play a bunch in a row.
Playing it with your group
Lobbies hold up to 16 players and can be public or private, so you can set up a private room and bring your friends in for the night. Rounds are short enough that you can rotate who wins, argue about the last push, and jump straight into the next map without a long wait. Between games there is time to goof off, and the character customizer lets everyone make a hamster that looks like theirs. There is also a floss emote for anyone who wants to use it. The tone is silly and family friendly, which suits a casual game night or a stream where you just want to laugh at how a round falls apart.
Before you start
Expect chaos rather than precision: the whole point is dodging, dashing and shoving other hamsters, so rounds will be loud and unpredictable. It is competitive PvP, but the matches are short and the maps are quick to learn, so there is no long setup before you are playing. Check the in-game match length setting if your group wants faster or longer rounds, and pick a map that fits the mood, since they vary in size and style. Character customization is available from the start, so give everyone a minute to build their hamster before the first round begins.
