A 2.5D fighter built around Roman Cancel
GUILTY GEAR Xrd -SIGN- is the newest entry in a series that has run since 1998. The characters are drawn in full 3D but hand-polished to keep the look of hand-drawn anime. The battle system was rebuilt with the Roman Cancel at its center, so your game plan and battle strategy start from that core system. The roster has 17 characters: 12 returning from earlier Guilty Gear games, starting with Sol and Ky, plus 5 making their first appearance here — Bedman, Sin, Ramlethal, Elphelt and Leo. Sin, Elphelt and Leo can be unlocked with in-game currency or acquired through their respective DLCs.
How your group plays together
Network Mode is where you meet up. Player Match rooms let you communicate with players worldwide and take a seat for a battle, and you can enter a room just to spectate other players' matches from a spectator seat. Rank Match puts your personal ranking score on the line instead. While you wait in the Rank Match queue, you can keep playing offline modes like ARCADE and TRAINING. Steam features for this game are Online PvP and Remote Play Together.
Modes to work through before jumping online
TUTORIAL Mode teaches you the ropes of fighting games through the comical episode of Sin and Sol, and the other training modes give you missions to complete. STORY Mode combines standard adventure games with TV animation to unfold the lore of Guilty Gear. GALLERY Mode unlocks illustrations and BGMs. M.O.M. mode lets you customize your favorite characters with moves from other characters, such as having Ky shoot Gunflame.
