The EX Series Returns
FIGHTING EX LAYER brings Arika's EX characters back for another battle, rebuilt with new graphics. The roster includes 15 classic characters such as Kairi, Skullomania, Blaire and Pullum. It is a 2.5D fighting game built around competitive versus matches, with an arcade-style presentation and a soundtrack tagged as a highlight.
The Gougi System
The main new mechanic is the Gougi System. By meeting certain requirements during a fight, your character gains new abilities. Five Gougi make up one set, called a Gougi Deck, and there are 15 different decks to choose from. Picking the right combination of character and deck is a core part of finding a playstyle that suits you.
Playing Together
Your group can fight each other through Online PvP or sit together for Offline Versus. Remote Play Together is also available, letting friends join in over the internet. For players who prefer to practice alone, there is Arcade Mode, Training Mode, and the returning Expert Mode, which challenges you to clear it with every character.
Before You Start
Two input styles are offered. "Progressive" removes complicated command inputs for a simpler control scheme, while "Classic" keeps the traditional fighting game inputs. Decide which style your group wants to use before you start, since it changes how the matches feel. Menus and options are displayed in English, while description sentences support 12 languages.
