Two dream worlds, one Giana
Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams is a side-scrolling platformer where you play as Giana and warp her dreams to change her abilities. Switching between the two dream worlds reshapes the level around you, so you'll morph back and forth constantly to solve puzzles, reach gems, and find secret spots. Sweet Giana uses a twirling jump attack, while Punk Giana uses a hammering dash attack, and you'll need both to get through. The levels are built on tight controls and retro-era challenge, with 23 levels across 3 distinct worlds, each existing in two contrasting versions. Large bosses block the way, and they are meant to be brutal. If you want a harder run, Hardcore and Über Hardcore modes are there, and there's also a remixed easier mode for all levels and bosses.
Playing together
The multiplayer side is a competitive arena racing mode for local PvP with up to 4 players. Everyone speed-runs the same stage, trying to push the others off the screen using boosters and power-ups. You can run, dash, jump, head bonk, and fire cannonballs and bullet barrages at opponents. Dreamgates let you switch the level layout mid-race, which mixes up the route as you go. Gems fill your speed booster, and power-ups knock out other players. Remote Play Together is available, so friends can join in over a connection rather than sitting at the same machine.
Before you start
Expect a demanding platformer: the game leans on precise jumps and quick reactions, and the harder modes assume you already know the levels well. Each dream layer has its own music style, with a crossfading soundtrack by Chris Hülsbeck and Machinae Supremacy that shifts as you swap worlds. Halloween-themed levels are accessible from the start. A controller is listed among the tags, so it's worth having one ready if you prefer it over keyboard.
