What ENTROPOLY is
ENTROPOLY is a time-trial platformer with movement borrowed from platform fighters. You play as Poly, moving through the psychedelic realms of the elements and fighting chaos to put things back in balance. The core of the game is the movement itself: tight controls with layers of depth, wavedashing, and secret techniques you can dig into once the basics feel natural. It's built to be easy to pick up and hard to master, so the first minutes are approachable and the ceiling keeps going up.
There are 85 challenging levels to work through, plus hub worlds you can explore freely at your own pace. Between those you'll find freestyle side-levels meant for showing off your tech skill, and secrets tucked away for anyone who bothers to look. The whole thing is a 2D side-scrolling platformer with colorful, psychedelic pixel art.
Playing together
ENTROPOLY has local multiplayer, and two modes come with it: a volleyball mode and a tag battle mode. Both are couch-style, so you play on the same screen with friends rather than over the internet. If your group wants to join from elsewhere, Remote Play Together lets people tag along remotely.
The game also ships with a level editor, so one person can build a level and the rest can run it. That gives a group something to hand back and forth beyond the built-in 85 levels.
Before you start
Controller is the way to go here. Native GameCube controller support is built in, and there's in-depth controller remapping if you want a specific layout or a different pad. Expect a precision platformer: the mechanics reward practice, and the secret techniques won't announce themselves, so messing around in the freestyle side-levels and hub worlds is a good way to learn what the movement can do before you chase times.
