Two genres in one game

Toodee and Topdee is a hybrid of a 2D platformer and a top-down puzzler. A cosmic turbulence merged the two dimensions, and the game world changes its rules depending on which character you are playing as. As Toodee you run through precision platforming sections, and as Topdee you solve puzzles from a top-down view. You switch between them to get past challenges that neither character could handle alone. The quest is to find the missing semicolon and return the balance to the universe, and along the way you meet strange friends and take on huge bosses.

Playing together

The game has a local co-op mode, so a friend can join you on the quest. One of you takes Toodee and the other takes Topdee, and you trade perspectives to clear sections that need both platforming and puzzle solving. Remote Play Together is supported, which lets a friend join over the internet as if you were sitting on the same couch. The game also works as a singleplayer experience if you would rather handle both characters yourself.

Before you start

Expect a challenge. The platforming sections are built around precision, and the game is tagged as difficult, so you will probably retry sections more than once. If the difficulty gets in the way, the difficulty settings let you modify some of the game rules to make things more manageable. A controller is supported, which suits the tight platforming. The game hides secrets in its levels, so exploring off the main path is worth your time.
