Build your own Archangel

Garrison: Archangel is a fast mecha fighting game where you assemble your robot part by part and then take it into the arena. You pick the components, the weapons and the colors of each part, so two players rarely show up with the same machine. Weapons each have their own mechanics: swing the Dominus Sword to beat opponents down, or load rockets and keep your distance, or carry both and switch as the fight changes. Beyond the build screen, you unlock preset characters, alternate parts, alternate weapons, paint patterns and other cosmetics as you play.

Playing together on one screen

The game supports couch split-screen for up to four players, and controllers are required for that setup. Custom Game mode is where a group sets its own terms: changeable rules, stats, teams and options, with duels, deathmatches, free-for-alls and survival games against friends and the AI. Arenas range from stadiums to trap-filled death pits, so the map choice matters as much as the build. Only one person needs a copy to bring friends in online through Steam Remote Play, which lets you run the split-screen game with people over the internet.

Modes and what to expect before starting

Alongside the group modes there is plenty to play on your own: Arcade, Survival, Horde and Missions. Missions Mode drops you into the Baja Secunda conflict as a mercenary pilot called a Ghost, where you fight or befriend factions, earn money, gain fame or infamy, and unlock new parts and cosmetics. Arcade gives you a ranking ladder of 1-on-1 matches against the AI, while objective-based missions throw multiple enemies and factions at you. The game is in Early Access, made by a small team in the Philippines with development shaped heavily by community input, so expect the content and rules to keep moving as it grows.
