What Flamecraft is
Flamecraft is a cozy, turn-based strategy board game for 1 to 5 players. You play as a Flamekeeper in a fantasy town where dragons and magic are part of everyday life. Your job is to place artisan dragons into the shops of the shopping district, gather resources, and enchant those shops with magical artifacts. The town is full of character: sweets wait to be baked at Guilty Treasures, enchanted letters go out from Scale Mail Post, iron comes from Gnome Depot, bread from Drake of Cakes, and potions brew at Draconic Btonic. The board is a vibrant 3D town with animated shops, booths, and laboratories, populated by over 70 illustrated dragons and 30 unique shops, all set to a whimsical score.
How a group plays it together
On your turn you visit one shop and either gather resources or enchant it using artifacts. Enchanting fires up all the dragons in that shop and combines their abilities into combos, which is where the clever resource management pays off. You also befriend Fancy Dragons, whose abilities boost your reputation, and Companion cards give one-time effects and extra scoring chances. The aim is straightforward: earn the most reputation points by the time the game ends and claim the Master of Flamecraft title. Since you need to outsmart the other Flamekeepers, there is real competition underneath the gentle presentation.
Games can be set up in several ways. You can play solo against AI of varying difficulty, play a relaxing custom game with family, or face other players online. Online PvP and Remote Play Together are supported, so a group can share a session even when everyone is at their own machine. The order dragons, shops, and enchantments appear in is random each game, but how you use them is entirely your choice, which keeps repeat plays feeling different.
Before you start
Expect a turn-based pace rather than anything fast or reflex-driven. The depth comes from planning which dragons to place where, timing your enchantments to trigger ability combos, and managing the resources you collect. There is a lot of content to learn across the dragons and shops, but the rules stay the same each session, so the variety comes from what shows up and how you respond to it. Controller support is available, and the tone is deliberately cute, colorful, and relaxing, making it a comfortable pick for mixed groups.
