Building a woodland city

Everdell is a turn-based strategy game adapted from the tabletop board game. You gather resources — Berries, Twigs, Resin, Pebbles and Cards — and use them to build a city of Constructions and Critters. Your city holds up to 15 cards, and each card scores points. The game runs across four seasons, from Everfrost to Bellsong, and once the Winter Moon returns the game ends. The highest-scoring city wins.

How your group plays together

On each turn you take one of three actions: place a Worker out into the valley to gather resources, play a Card into your city, or prepare for the next season, which brings your workers home and moves the game forward. When seasons change, plan carefully — your workers come back, but the game keeps moving toward the Winter Moon. You can face off against other founders in cross-platform multiplayer, or play against AI and Solo Challenges when the group is not around.

What to know before starting

The game combines worker placement with card play, so you are balancing two things at once: sending workers to collect what you need, and deciding which cards to commit to your city. Cards generate resources, open up new abilities and score points, so finding combos and synergies matters. There are buildings to construct, characters to meet and events to host across the four seasons. The whole run is finite — after four seasons the game ends and points are counted, so your city plan needs to work within that window.
