What Distance is
Distance is an atmospheric racing platformer set in a deadly, neon-drenched city. Instead of doing laps on a loop, you survive treacherous roads full of obstacles and try to reach the end in the quickest time. Your car has abilities that let you drive on the track, upside down, and on buildings and walls. You can also fly to discover new shortcuts and paths. The game is a spiritual successor to Nitronic Rush, created by Refract and 5 others at DigiPen Institute of Technology, and it carries an original soundtrack from the composer behind Nitronic Rush, Solace, and The Fourth Wall.
Playing together
Take on the roads with friends in multiplayer. Online play supports up to 12 players, and split-screen supports 2-4 players. Modes include Sprint, Reverse Tag, and Stunt. Remote Play Together is also available. In Adventure, a short single player experience, you drive into the heart of a dark, mysterious city to pursue an ominous threat. In Arcade, you race ghosts to take on the leaderboards' best and earn medals to unlock new tracks in several different modes.
Before you start
Trackmogrify offers random track generation with advanced seed modifiers. A level editor lets you create levels from within the game and share them with players around the world, with over 2,500 levels already shared on Steam Workshop. Full VR integration is included with support for Oculus Rift CV1 and HTC Vive.
