What DinoScape is
DinoScape is a 2D platformer from Tomary where you play a caveman trying to save the dinosaurs from extinction. The levels throw meteorites, lava, sharp teeth and deep abysses at you, and you get around all of it while riding your dinosaur. The look is cartoony and colorful, with pixel graphics and a cartoon style, and the setting plays with alternate history rather than a straight retelling. It's an action-adventure built around arcade-style running and jumping, so rounds stay short and the focus stays on movement and timing.
Playing together
The game carries an online PvP Steam feature, so you can take it on alongside other players over the internet rather than only on your own. The core loop stays the same for everyone: ride your dinosaur, dodge the hazards the levels throw at you, and keep moving. Along the way you can collect rare dinosaur eggs and gather emeralds, which you then spend to unlock accessories for your character. That gives the group something to compare after a run — who came back with more eggs, who unlocked the better gear.
Before you start
DinoScape is free to play, so anyone in the group can install it and jump in without a barrier. It launched in 2020 and is tagged both as singleplayer and multiplayer, so you can run it solo when the group isn't online and switch to the online side when they are. Expect a straightforward arcade platformer rather than a long story campaign: the appeal is in the platforming challenges, the dinosaur riding, and the collectibles that feed into unlocking accessories.
