A prehistoric strategy survival game
Caveman Craig is a 2D side-scrolling strategy and survival game set in a world of cavemen, neanderthals, sasquatches and dinosaurs. You play as Craig, leading your clan through hunting and gathering while building up your tribe's strength. The goal is to conquer the 5 tribes of boggdrop and decide the fate of man. Battles are fought with rock, spear and claw, and the tone leans comedy as much as it does survival. Along the way you unlock hidden extras, including some deliberately silly cheats, and you face the dinosaurs you know and fear: T-rexes, velociraptors, and apparently walruses.
Playing together
You can share the experience with friends in a couple of ways. Grab a controller and play split screen co-op, working through the prehistoric world side by side. When your group wants to compare how they did, Steam leaderboards hold your stats to check against each other. The game also supports Remote Play Together, so friends can join in over a connection rather than needing to be on the same couch.
Before you start
Teaching new skills to your cavemen matters: they need those abilities to contribute to keeping your people alive, so expect to spend time developing your tribe rather than only fighting. You will gather resources, fend off waves of dinosaurs with your warriors, and use special tools and equipment to get the better of rival tribes. Beyond the main push to conquer boggdrop, there are extra game types to look at, including custom games and a survival mode for when you want a straight test against the prehistoric world.
