What Dice & Fold is
Dice & Fold is a turn-based dungeon crawler where rolling dice is your only way of attacking. You unfold your cards to face the creature cards on the table, roll, and the higher the roll, the more damage you deal. The goal of each encounter is to damage an enemy card enough to fold it. The whole thing plays out on a top-down table with enemies made of cards, so it sits somewhere between a classic Solitaire layout and a tabletop RPG fight. Along the way you build your deck, pick items between stages, and push deeper into a generated dungeon full of surprises.
How a group plays it together
Dice & Fold supports Remote Play Together, so one person who owns the game can invite friends along for the session. Since the game is mouse only, everyone is working with the same simple input: click to roll, click to pick targets, click to choose your upgrades. That makes it easy to pass the mouse around or talk through decisions as a group. Combat is turn-based, so there is time between rolls to argue about which enemy to fold first, which companion to pair with your hero, and whether to push for a greedy play or play it safe. The dice rolls give everyone something to react to together, and the class variety means each run can look different depending on who is steering.
Before you start
Expect chance to matter. Your attacks come entirely from dice, so a bad roll is a real possibility, and monster cards strike back at the end of each turn. The game rewards balancing aggression against keeping yourself alive, and the item choices between stages are where you shape the run — improving dice rolls, boosting class abilities, or adding new effects. There are 35+ classes with their own abilities and playstyles, so the first runs are mostly about finding which ones click for you. Losing is not wasted time: defeated runs still hand you meta upgrades and currencies that strengthen your character for the next attempt. The developers plan to keep adding items, heroes, and companions through updates, so the pool of options grows over time.
