A tabletop roguelike built on cards and tactics
Abalon is a roguelike adventure that mixes turn-based tactics with card strategy. You pick a summoner and lead your heroes through quests where you hunt for hidden secrets, powerful cards, new team members, and odd encounters like mutated rabbits. The world is drawn from tabletop settings: frozen peaks, barren deserts, colorful woodland, and dingy dungeons. Each world brings its own characters, mysteries, and bosses. Events are settled the classic way, with a roll of the D20.
Playing together
Online Co-op lets you and your friends work through the adventure as a group. Online PvP is there when you want to test your deck against each other, and Remote Play Together lets someone share their session with the rest of the group. In Battle Mode you build a constructed deck from cards you have found on your runs, then bring it along with two allied units to face tough opponents.
How a run plays out
Exploring happens in real time. You uncover lore scrolls, buy cards from shops, and run into events along the way. Combat switches to turn-based, and unit positioning matters as much as your spells. Fights take place on arena-style maps where the terrain is part of the fight: equip armor from a statue mid-battle, slam enemies into a wall of spikes, or turn a tree behind enemy lines into an allied fighter. Between fights you collect cards. Each summoner is tied to two classes out of Arcane, Celestial, Nature, Void, and Chaos, and each class plays differently. Chaos leans on fire AOE spells for big damage, while Arcane lets you mind-control enemies. Your deck caps at 20 cards, so extra cards you pick up will not weigh down your build. If you want to change direction mid-run, sit at the campfire and talk to the Cosmic Tortoise.
Before you start
There are 5 worlds to explore, each with its own events, characters, and bosses, and 20 summoners with unique abilities. You can meet over 50 characters through world events, and all of them can join your adventure. Over 400 cards are available to collect as you build toward the deck you want. PvE Battle Mode gives you a place to practice and master your favorite summoner. The adventure changes each time, so expect to adapt as you go.
