What Dead Pixels is
A toxic waste spill reaches the water supply and the recently dead climb out of their graves. You shoot through the hordes of undead to reach rescue and get out of the city. Along the way you search stores and houses for supplies and trade with other survivors. The game is a 2D side-scrolling shooter with pixel graphics and RPG-style loot, plus survival and roguelike elements. Expect plenty of gore alongside the shooting.
Playing it together
Dead Pixels supports single player and two player local co-op, so two of you can sit on the same screen and fight through the city side by side. If your group is spread across Discord, Remote Play Together lets friends join in from their own machines while you play locally. The game also has online leaderboards if your group wants to compare runs after the session.
Before you start
There are three modes of play and four difficulty modes to pick from, so a group can settle on a mode and a difficulty that suits everyone before the first run. The city is procedurally generated and different every time, which means each session throws up a new layout and new places to loot. There are over 100 weapons, grenades and items to find and trade for, so loadouts change from run to run rather than following a fixed path. Controller support is listed, and there are 30 achievements to work through if your group likes chasing goals between runs.
