A top-down zombie shooter with roguelite runs
Zombieville USA 3D is an arcade shooter played from an isometric, top-down view. You fight through suburbia against an endless horde of the undead, and the difficulty scales without limit, so every run ends the same way: eventually the living dead overwhelm you. The goal is to see how long you last and push your high score. Weapons drop with randomly generated traits, so no two runs hand you the same loadout. The look is stylized 3D with a cartoony, darkly comic tone — this is a light-hearted action romp rather than a horror game.
Playing together with your group
You can play solo or jump into online co-op with up to 3 players. Co-op is PvE, so your group is always on the same side against the zombies. Each player picks their own weapons and perks, which means you can split roles across the group — one person leaning into melee with katanas and chainsaws, another covering with shotguns or rockets, someone else spraying with energy weapons or flamethrowers. Scavenging for weapons mid-run keeps the group moving and deciding together what to grab. Since runs are scored and difficulty keeps climbing, a group session naturally becomes a shared attempt to survive a few waves longer than last time.
What to know before you start
There are 39 weapons to unlock, spanning machine guns, shotguns, chainsaws, rockets, energy weapons, flamethrowers and katanas, plus 28 unlockable perks you level up to shape your build. Perks let you specialize — melee, explosives, or whatever suits you — so expect to unlock things gradually across multiple runs rather than having everything up front. The game works with a gamepad and with mouse and keyboard, so pick whichever your group is comfortable with. It's tagged as casual and old school, so the moment-to-moment play is straightforward arcade action; the depth comes from perk choices, weapon traits and chasing a better score before the horde closes in.
