What CRYO Is
CRYO is a first-person cooperative survival horror game for 1-4 players, set in abandoned ANGENEX facilities scattered across Antarctica. You play as a technician sent to restore communications, repair critical systems, recover research, and find out why contact was lost. What you find instead is empty halls, failing equipment, and mutated creatures that hunt in different ways. Some chase you on sight, others track movement, sound, darkness, or patience. The cold and the broken machinery are just as dangerous as anything stalking the corridors. The game is in Early Access, so expect things to change as it develops.
How Your Group Plays Together
You can play solo or with up to three friends online. Working as a team means splitting up to search faster, coordinating repairs, watching security cameras, sharing equipment, and calling out when something is close. Communication matters more than firepower, since you rarely get to fight back directly. Instead you get tools: motion detectors to track movement, cameras to watch dangerous areas, music players to pull a creature away, and other specialist gear. Stealth is a big part of it too. Crouch to stay quiet, hide in lockers, and break line of sight when a creature closes in. But what works against one monster may do nothing against the next one, so pay attention to how each one hunts.
Before You Start
Every deployment is different. The creature hunting you can change, objectives shift, equipment ends up in new places, and your escape options may not be the same twice. You need to finish the primary objectives before you can leave, and then actually get an escape route working, which may take more repairs or extra gear. Some exits are safer, some are faster, and some have limited capacity, so four survivors heading for an escape built for two creates a real problem. The locations vary too: research facilities, underground installations, industrial sites, and stranded vessels, each with its own layout, hazards, and story. Expect nonlinear objectives and multiple endings depending on how things play out.
