What the game is
Chaotic Airport Construction Manager puts you in charge of building the BER airport from the ground up, as a satire of the real Berlin airport that was meant to open in 2012 and only did so in October 2020. You take the role of the construction manager and try to get the thing finished on schedule, while flaws keep appearing. The game presents itself as an ultrarealistic simulation, but it is really a parody made by the German satire site The Postillon, and it leans hard into that. Expect a minimalist 3D city builder with an economy to juggle, and a guaranteed frustration factor as part of the joke. Flaws in this game are not bugs, they are a feature.
How a group plays it together
The game supports Remote Play Together, so friends can join your session over Steam and work on the construction site with you. That means you can share the load of dealing with problems as they pop up, argue over which issue to fix first, and watch the schedule slip together. Since the whole thing is built around management and time pressure, having extra hands on the decisions is where the co-op fun comes from: someone reads the situation, someone else picks the response, and the group lives with the outcome. Multiple endings are in the mix, so different runs can end very differently depending on how you handle the mess.
What to know before starting
There are more than 100 problems hidden in the game, each with options for solving them, so no single run will show you everything. The game also contains articles pulled from The Postillon's archive about BER, plus four new exclusive articles for diligent players, which means reading is part of the experience alongside the building and economy. It carries tags for education, satire, memes and text-based content, so expect a lot of written material mixed into the management loop rather than a pure construction sandbox. Go in ready to laugh at the process, not to reach a smooth, satisfying finish.
