Building a construction business from scratch
Construction Simulator puts you in charge of your own construction company. You start small, take on contracts, earn income and use it to buy more powerful machines for your fleet. Your mentor Hape guides you as you learn the work. The game runs across two maps with separate campaigns: Friedenberg, based on towns in Southwest Germany with rolling hills and riversides, where you work on renewable energy projects and local urban infrastructure, and Sunny Haven, an American-style harbor city you revitalize to get its tourism industry moving again. Between the base game and its updates there are more than 100 contracts and over 90 machines, so there is plenty of work to keep you busy.
Playing together with friends
The game supports online co-op for up to three friends alongside you, with crossplay between PC and consoles and voice chat built in. On a shared job you can split the work: one person drives and operates a machine while another handles transport, refilling or repairs. Machines come from licensed manufacturers such as Caterpillar, Liebherr, MAN, Bobcat, CASE and Wacker Neuson, and the updates added a service vehicle for refueling and repairing on site, which is handy when a group is working across a large area. Different tasks suit different equipment, so a group can put a wide part of the fleet to use in one session.
What to know before starting
The two maps each have their own campaign, so pick one and work through its contracts to climb the ladder. Earning income is the path to better machinery, so early jobs are slower with basic equipment and pick up as your fleet grows. The Wacker Neuson EW100 and ET145 let you swap buckets to suit the job, and a flashlight, increased vehicle hall capacity and terrain reworks came in with the updates. Contracts vary in size and requirement, and clients will push you with different challenges, so expect a mix of driving, operating and planning rather than one repeated task.
