A dwarf delve with real stakes
Cave Crawlers is a first-person rogue lite set in a system of randomly generated caves. You play a Dwarf digging for glory, power, and loot: armor, weapons, potions, and items hidden underground from the world above. Each biome brings complete environment changes, new enemies, and new items, plus trapped rooms that hold big rewards if you can survive them. Every biome also has a themed boss with its own mechanics, and beating it is how you reach the next biome. Bosses drop their own unique loot.
The build side matters as much as the swinging. You pick from over 100 weapon-specific talents, and each weapon carries its own talent effect. An axe lets you ravage enemies, a dagger swings extremely fast, a torch can heal allies, and you can lean into blocking to play tank. Spells, perks, and stats layer on top, so two dwarves with different loadouts play quite differently.
Playing together
Cave Crawlers supports online co-op for up to 10 players in one game, and you can also crawl alone. Teams rely on each other's strength and wit to handle what waits deeper down, with each player bringing their own personalized talents, spells, and items to the fight. One thing to keep in mind: the power of the caves grows as more dwarves adventure together, so a bigger group means tougher threats rather than an easier ride.
Before you start
Deaths are permanent. You create a new character at the start of a run, and that character carries its own items and expertise talents. When it dies, it is dead for good, so treat each character as a fresh journey rather than something you can grind back.
Light is scarce. The caves are extremely dark and your light is limited. Torches burn out over time, and you can fall back on flint and steel in the darkest situations. Bring a plan for keeping the path lit while you fight.
The game is in Early Access and is free to play, so expect things to change as development continues.
