What Buggos 2 is

Buggos 2 puts you in charge of the Buggo Hivemind, a swarm of bugs trying to overrun the Humans' bases. It's a low-micro RTS: you place living spawners, give each one an Attack Pin, and the swarm handles the rest — marching, splitting and flooding around walls and turrets on its own. You never command a single bug. Up to 5,000 bugs can be on the field at once, pouring over fortifications while you plan the next push. If you want tighter control, the game still gives you control groups and chained pins to direct the swarm more precisely.

Between missions you spend evolution points in a tree of 127 evolutions and mutations. Mutations change how a unit actually works, not just its stats, so a Swarmer flood plays very differently from Spore Artillery sieges, Wasp raids over the walls, Brain Bugs that turn Humans against their own base, or Boom Slugs that detonate inside Human lines. You can reset the tree whenever you want and try a completely different build.

Playing together

The main cooperative-adjacent hook is the 4-player online battles. Everyone drafts their own evolutions and mutations from a point budget the host sets, then the swarms collide — free-for-all or in teams. Last Hive standing wins, so losing your final Hive puts you out of the fight. Drafting separately means each player can show up with a different swarm identity, and the host's budget decides how wild the drafts get.

Outside of matches, Survival mode is a good shared watch: hold out against endless Human waves, earning an evolution point every wave, which makes the difficulty ramp and the build choices matter more as it goes.

Before you start

The campaign runs 45 missions across 9 planets, and every map is hand-built with chokepoints, back doors and alternate routes. Paint the ground in Goo, flank with fliers, and look for the path the Humans forgot to wall off. Difficulty is adjustable, and the Humans adapt too: after each planet you choose how they evolve in response to your swarm, so your old tricks may stop working.

There's also a level editor with Steam Workshop support, where you can build maps, script them with triggers and share them with other players. The game runs in 6 languages: English, French, German, Russian, Simplified Chinese and Latin American Spanish. Expect a violent, gore-tagged sci-fi setting where you play the villain — the Humans are the ones getting buried.
