What Backpack Jianghu is
Backpack Jianghu is a Wuxia-themed game built around two things: packing your bag and fighting your way up Mount Hua. You pick a starting sect, drop into a world shared with dozens of other players, and then decide how to spend each step — fight, shop, open chests, rest, or take your chances on a random event. The demo offers four sects: Huashan, Shaolin, Wudang, and Wudu, with 12 sub-classes, 10 talent skills, and close to 200 items to build with.
Combat runs on what you carry. Inner energy boosts skills, weapons can be upgraded, and low-tier skills merge into higher-tier ones. Skill fragments level abilities permanently, so good choices carry forward. The item pool supports very specific builds: Lonely Nine Swords chains 20 attacks with armor break and bleed, Taichi Mastery counters automatically when you're hit, Dragon Strike lands a single blow for 99,999 damage that ignores armor, and Qiankun Dodge evades and reflects the next attack. Every strategy has a counter, so a build that crushes one opponent can walk into a hard wall.
Playing alongside your friends
You share the map with 99 others, but those players are saved data rather than live people, so nothing forces you to hurry. Take your time arranging your pack between moves. On the map you can inspect enemy packs, see which items they carry, read their strategy, and work out what loot they'll drop if you beat them. Winning a fight lets you take items straight out of their pack.
Each sect starts with a different pack, different items, and a different starting location, and the shops, chests, events, and enemies you meet change with your sect choice. After a match you can share your lineup code on Discord and social platforms, then fight directly against other players' best teams — a clean way to settle who in your group actually built the stronger squad.
Before you start
Know that the goal is always the same: reach Mount Hua's peak and beat everyone else. Everything else — the route you take, the events you risk, the items you hoard — is in service of that final showdown. The demo is free and covers the four sects listed above; more sects are planned, including Shaolin, Wudang, Huashan, Wudu, Xuedao, Gaibang, Xiayao, Tangmen, Emei, and Liushanmen, though that list may change. Expect a game where inventory space matters as much as raw damage, and where scouting an opponent before you commit is often the difference between looting their bag and feeding them yours.
