What NEODUEL: Backpack Monsters is

NEODUEL: Backpack Monsters is an inventory auto-battler with a monster-trainer twist. You collect creatures called Cosmions along with items, then arrange everything inside your backpack before the fight starts. Placement matters: putting the right Cosmions next to the right items creates synergies, and combining units in clever ways is how you build a team that beats the opponent's. Once the duel begins, the battle plays out on its own, so the deciding happens during your preparation rather than in the moment-to-moment fighting.

The game mixes creature collecting with resource and inventory management. You are not just picking strong monsters, you are deciding what fits, what stacks with what, and what gets left behind when space runs short. That tension between limited backpack room and the combos you want to assemble is the core of each round.

Growing your Cosmions

Elemental essences let you evolve a Cosmion into its advanced form, which changes what it can do on the field. Beyond evolving single units, you can fuse different Cosmions together to unlock unique creations that neither ingredient could produce on its own. Between these two systems, your roster keeps opening up new options, so the teams you field later will look quite different from the ones you started with.

Progress runs through leagues, from neighborhood street duels up to the big stadiums of monster battling. Winning against other players moves you upward. When you want a break from PvP, Elemental challenges offer puzzles to test your planning instead.

Playing with friends

Online PvP puts you against other duelists, and Asynchronous Multiplayer means you can take your turn and come back when it suits you. Remote Play Together is supported, so a friend can join you from their own setup while you play. Both players build and arrange their backpacks, then watch the auto-battle resolve the plan they made.

Before you start

Expect a game about preparation more than reflexes: most of your time goes into choosing Cosmions, fitting items into limited space, and reading what your opponent is likely to field. The retro, colorful presentation and cute creature designs keep the tone light, but the strategy layer runs deeper than the casual look suggests. Give yourself room to experiment with fusions and essences early, since discovering which combinations click is the fastest way to climb the leagues.
