What Angry Arrows is
Angry Arrows is a cooperative archery game where your team rescues hostages from enemy strongholds using nothing but bows and arrows. The whole run hangs on one rule: one fatal mistake and it's back to square one. That makes every shot matter, and it makes a careless arrow feel expensive. The game runs on full controller support with simple, responsive controls, so the difficulty comes from the enemies and the situations rather than from fighting the input. Enemies are tough enough to leave you dead in your tracks, so expect to fail and retry.
Playing it as a group
You can experience the entire game with up to 4 players, and communication is the key to victory. Two approaches both work: sneak around enemies and pick them off one at a time, or rush in arrows-first and hope the plan survives contact. The open, dynamic layout means your group can settle on a tactic and adapt it mid-level. There's an in-game store where kills drop gold coins for anyone to pick up, and players compete for the most coins in a level — but at the end, win or lose, everyone's coins pile into one collective stash used to unlock and purchase new arrow types, such as Medusa Arrows. So the friendly competition never costs the team anything.
The four game modes
Campaign Mode gives you 25 demanding levels built to test skill and accuracy. Gladiator Mode drops you into the Colosseum against waves coming from all directions, where players can revive fallen teammates if they're clear of crossfire — or the last player standing can finish the wave alone. Rogue Mode sends you into a randomly generated forest to rescue a hidden hostage; you can enter your own level seed or let the game make one, and pausing shows the seed so you can write it down and replay that exact level later. Versus Mode needs a 2 player minimum and turns the group against itself on Versus Island across four sub-modes: Extraction, King of the Key (hold the key for 45 seconds), Deathmatch (first to 15 kills), and Mine Game, where players hurl landmines instead of arrows.
Before you start
Set expectations early: this game is built to cause yelling and anger, and the store text says it will leave you excited, eager for more, and probably a little miffed. Decide as a group whether you're going stealthy or loud, since the co-op modes reward a shared plan more than individual heroics. If you want to run the same Rogue level again, grab the seed from the pause screen before you quit. And if someone wants to shoot their friends instead of helping them, Versus Mode is waiting — just make sure at least two players are in.
