What Airranger is
Airranger is a bow and arrow multiplayer game built for VR. You wear a headset, draw a bow with your hands, and take on other players in matches where only the last one standing wins. The core trick is movement: when you shoot an arrow, you travel with it, and you can fire another arrow while you are still flying. That turns every shot into both an attack and a way to cross the map, so fights happen in the air as much as on the ground.
The arsenal is built around bows with different roles: Short Bow, Scatter Bow, Repeating Bow, Sniper Bow, Composite Bow and Stun Bow, each with its own place in a fight. Arrows come in variants too — explosive, frozen and fire arrows are valuable combat resources, and using them well can decide a match. Defensive gear matters as well: energy shield, protective helmet and armor absorb damage, a balance bar gives a more accurate aiming system, and an energy module makes your bow hit harder.
Playing with your group
Airranger supports online co-op and online PvP, so your group can meet up in matches rather than needing everyone in the same room. Battle Royale mode runs solo with up to 10 players, and there is a duo version where you team up with a friend — if your teammate goes down, you can rescue them and keep fighting together.
Other modes change the pace. War mode uses a smaller map with faster fights and lets you respawn after death. Bomb mode restricts you to explosive arrows, where the shock wave is what knocks opponents out. Guardian mode has you defending a human refuge against waves of zombies, where teamwork and careful play keep more humans alive. Team Deathmatch and Custom mode round out the options. Between matches you can spend time in the store mixing clothes, hats, gloves, arrow skins, arrow tails and flight effects, and supply packages can hand you items from that store.
Before you start
You need a VR headset — this is not a flat-screen game, and the whole design leans on physically drawing a bow and riding your own arrows. Expect a learning curve around the movement system: since you move by shooting, aiming and positioning are the same action, and reading where opponents will fly next is part of the fight.
Match rules differ quite a bit between modes, so check which one you are loading into. Battle Royale is last-player-standing with no respawns, War lets you come back, and Bomb mode limits you to a single arrow type. There is an official Discord server where you can find other players and share feedback with the developers.
