A WW1 bunker with something hunting you
Amnesia: The Bunker is a first-person horror game from Frictional Games, the makers of SOMA and Amnesia. You play as the French soldier Henri Clément, alone in a desolate WW1 bunker with a revolver that holds one bullet, a noisy dynamo flashlight, and scarce supplies to scavenge. An AI-driven monster stalks the halls and reacts to what you do and the sounds you make, so every playthrough plays out differently thanks to randomization and unpredictable behavior. Time is not on your side, and keeping the lights on matters for survival.
Playing it with friends
The Steam feature list includes Remote Play Together, which lets you stream the game to someone else so they can join in from their own machine. The game itself is tagged as Singleplayer, so the core experience is one person in the bunker with the monster. Remote Play Together is the way a group can share the session, with one player holding the controls while others watch along.
What to know before starting
Expect a difficult, tense survival horror game rather than a shooter. You scavenge resources, craft tools, and solve problems in a semi-open, non-linear world where multiple solutions exist for most obstacles. Interactions with the world are tactile and physics-based, and the monster is dynamic and ever-present, reacting to your actions. The store notes a Halloween update that adds Shell Shock Mode for a hardcore run and Custom Mode with over 30 settings, plus new stalker behaviors, a sublevel fuse system, randomized corpses, dog tags and locker locations, a Training Grounds level, and saving progress that costs fuel. Most of those are New Game+ features unlocked after completing the game once on any difficulty.
