A Wum looking for a home
Wuppo: Definitive Edition follows a lonely Wum that has lost its home and must cross the whole world to find a new place to live. The journey runs from the metropolitan haven Popocity to the cavernous Bliekopolis, taking in magical places and strange creatures along the way. This Wum is no traditional hero, so success comes from wit and charm rather than raw strength. The world is hand-drawn and packed with Wums, Fnakkers and other odd characters, plus an ancient conflict to resolve on the way. Along the way you use items and social skills to get past diverse challenges, fight enemies that range from small to big to MASSIVE, and collect filmstrips that uncover the world's detailed history. An extensive, enchanting orchestrated soundtrack runs through the whole trip.
Playing together
The Steam features list Remote Play Together, which lets friends join in over a connection rather than needing to be on the same couch. The tags include Co-op and Local Co-Op, so a group can team up and work through the world side by side. Between the puzzles, the enemies and the exploration, there is plenty to share, from figuring out a tricky spot to taking on the larger foes together.
Before you start
The tags list both Difficult and Puzzle Platformer, so expect some sections that take a few tries and some that ask you to stop and think before acting. It is a 2D platformer with Metroidvania and exploration elements, which means the world opens up as you go and some places only make sense once you have the right items or knowledge. The tags also include Story Rich, Score Attack and Family Friendly, so there is a story to follow alongside the platforming and combat. Worth knowing: the tags list both Singleplayer and Co-op, so the game can be played alone as well as with others.
