Worms Revolution in short
Worms Revolution is a turn-based strategy game where small teams of worms take turns firing weapons at each other across destructible 2D landscapes. The game keeps the classic side-view gameplay of the series while using 3D graphics, and it adds dynamic water, physics objects and worm classes to the fights. You can play the single player mode on your own, which includes 32 campaign missions and 20 puzzle missions, or go into multiplayer battles.
Playing together
Multiplayer supports up to 4 players, either locally or online. Before a match you pick from three game modes: Deathmatch, Forts or Classic. Each player builds a team from four classes: Soldier, Scout, Scientist and Heavy. You can unlock 16 worms in total, four of each class, and mix any combination of classes in a single match. Worms can be customised with hats, glasses, moustaches, gravestones, victory dances, soundbanks and trinkets. The fights take place across four environments: Beach, Sewer, Farmyard and Spooky. Remote Play Together is available, so someone can join in from their own setup.
Things to know before starting
Water and physics objects change how a match plays out. Water can already sit on the landscape, and new weapons like Water Bomb, Water Pistol and Water Strike add more of it; the Plug Hole utility drains it away. Physics objects are destructible and can release fire, poison or water when they explode. The Stick Up weapon steals from an opponent's inventory, and the Wrench repairs damaged Sentry Guns and physics objects. There is also a Level Editor for building your own environments. The game includes a script by Dean Wilkinson, with Matt Berry voicing the narrator, Don Keystone.
