Turn-based artillery with pink hedgehogs
Hedgewars is a turn-based strategy and artillery game where teams of pink hedgehogs fight across destructible landscapes. You assemble your team of hedgehog soldiers and take turns moving, aiming and firing to wipe out the enemy. The tone is comedic, with weapons and antics that range from grenades to a watermelon bomb and a piano strike. Battles run from the depths of hell to the depths of space, and the 2D maps are either randomly generated or fixed set images.
Playing together
Hedgewars supports up to 8 players in a match, with both local and network multiplayer. You can add optional AI opponents to fill out a fight. The Steam version includes Online PvP. Beyond playing against each other, there are two singleplayer campaigns totaling 24 missions, plus more than 25 single missions covering learning the game, target practice, challenges and casual play.
Before you start
There are about 58 weapons and utilities to work with, and 25 game modifiers let you tweak almost every aspect of a match; your favourite settings can be saved as schemes. Maps come from 37 environments, 44 set image maps, or your own creations drawn in the editor. Your team can be customized with over 280 hats and costumes, 32 graves, 13 forts, hundreds of flags and 13 voice packs.
