What Wattam Is

Wattam is a dream-like sandbox adventure from Keita Takahashi, the creator of Katamari Damacy and Noby Noby Boy, made with Funomena. You spend your time goofing around in a colorful world where more than 100 wacky characters are waiting to be unlocked and become your friends. These friends range from sushi and seashells to gigantic trees and normal-sized toilets. The Mayor acts as your tour guide through it all. Expect to dance, chase, climb, stack, float, explode, and hold hands as you explore. Puzzles, secrets, and mini-games are scattered throughout, and the physics and animations are built so that pushing their limits produces silly, comical results.

Playing Together

You can play solo or in co-op on the same screen with friends and family. Multiplayer is not a fixed commitment: you can pop in and out of multiplayer mode whenever you like, so the choice of when to play together stays with you. Steam's Remote Play Together feature is listed for the game. The adventure runs through all four seasons — Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter — giving you plenty to do and discover whether you are playing with pals or making new friends in Wattam.

Before You Start

Wattam leans into quirky creativity, inventive puzzle-solving, and zany friendship interactions rather than a tight challenge. The fun comes from experimenting with the sandbox and seeing what happens when you combine characters in different ways, since the multitude of friendship combinations and hijinks means there is always something new to stumble into. It has been in development with Funomena since 2015, and it is the developer's take on a whimsical, story-rich world built around music, comedy, and exploration.
