What Walk of Life is

Walk of Life is a competitive life simulator for up to 6 players. You move through boardgame-inspired turns while juggling health, education, career and personal hygiene, and life keeps throwing curveballs at you along the way. Careers range from fry cook to bank manager, and you can even lean on the lottery as your income. The whole thing runs on a new engine, which brings improved visuals, more fluid gameplay and the kind of animations you can check out in the Arcade.

How a group plays it together

Play against friends, against bots, or on your own. It works with online co-op, online PvP and Remote Play Together, plus up to 4 players locally. You pick from a cast of unique roles with very different playstyles: the Workaholic climbs the corporate ladder, the Scavenger hunts down valuable artifacts, and the Mystic follows horoscopes, all on not-so-epic quests that score bonus points. Turns play out like a board game, so you are always reacting to what the others just did.

Making it yours

Success gets spent as well as earned. You decorate your apartment to show off your material wealth, from a sleek designer couch to a weaponized robot vacuum that guards it from covetous intruders, turning the place into a Shangri-La of consumer products. There is also room to express yourself in the literal sense, with many roles to take on.

Before you start

Expect a wacky, cartoony party game with a funny, family friendly tone rather than a serious simulation. It supports controller play, so pass one around if you are sitting together on the couch. Keep in mind the roles push you toward very different strategies, so a group that talks about who is grabbing which role will get more out of the match. Rounds are competitive, and the goal is simply to be the champion when it all ends.
