What PowerWash Simulator is
PowerWash Simulator is a first-person cleaning game from FuturLab. You pick up a power washer and strip dirt off patios, pavements, vehicles, public parks and more, working your way to a sparkling finish. The pace is stress-free and the atmosphere is relaxing, so it works as something to unwind with rather than a test of reflexes. You build up your own power-washing business as you go, unlocking new tools, upgrades, washers, nozzles, cleaners and extensions along the way. No dirt is too tough for the range you end up with, and the game is built so that casual players and people who want to get into the nitty-gritty can both pick it up and play.
Playing it together
The game supports Online Co-Op, so you can bring friends in instead of working alone. The store text describes taking on jobs as a solo traveller or bringing all hands on deck in co-op, which means the same cleaning work can be split across a group. Everyone gets to point a washer at the grime and watch the surface underneath come back to colour, and the job only finishes when the whole thing is clean. It suits a Discord call where people want something low-pressure to do together while they talk, since nobody has to perform or rush.
Before you start
Expect a lot of dirt in a lot of places: the base game covers everyday outdoor spaces, and there is a wide range of additional content beyond it. Seasonal Specials are free content updates that each add a single map themed around a season or holiday, including an Ice Rink, a Halloween House and a Cruise Ship Sun Deck. The Muckingham Files add bonus jobs, such as a Subway Train and Sculpture Park, a Dessert Parlour, a vandalised modern mansion and a fire plane. There are also licensed Special Packs that put you in specific worlds: Wallace & Gromit's home and inventions, Warhammer 40,000 Imperial machines, Shrek fairy tale maps, Alice's Adventures Wonderland, Back to the Future movie sets, and SpongeBob SquarePants' Bikini Bottom. Some of these come with extra gear, like the summer suit, gloves and power washer skin from the Cruise Ship Sun Deck pack. Check which packs your group actually wants, since they are separate additions to the base game.
