What Virtual Fighter Maneuvers is

Virtual Fighter Maneuvers is a VR combat flight simulator from the creator of VTOL VR, focused on short-range air-to-air engagements. You launch directly into the merge and fight with realistic flight and weapon physics. Aircraft and missiles are simulated with effects from altitude, transonic drag, angle of attack, and fuel and ammo weight, so your performance changes as you burn fuel and spend ammunition. Winning comes down to managing energy, turn rate, and positioning rather than just pointing at the target.

You can duel against challenging AI opponents or compete with other players online, in casual modes or global ranked dogfight matches where you earn a rank and face players at a similar skill level. The game is VR only.

Flying the three aircraft

You choose from three unique fighters, and each one asks for a different approach. The T-15 Excalibur has two high powered engines and cropped delta wings, giving it the highest thrust and top speed, which suits an air superiority role. The T-16 Falchion is a single-engine lightweight fighter with the best sustained turn rate, which gives it an edge in two-circle fights. The T-18 Cutlass is a naval multi-role jet that can reach an aggressive angle of attack and dominates lower speed one-circle fights. Learning the strengths and weaknesses of each aircraft is a core part of getting better.

Controls and setup

You interact with the cockpit and fly using the virtual controls, or you can bind gamepad and HOTAS hardware. Since it is VR only, plan for a headset before you start. Sessions are built around short, intense merges, so a group can jump in, pick aircraft, and get straight to fighting without a long setup.
