A Base That Has to Think

Vectorio Classic is a top-down survival base-building game where the map is both the goal and the problem. Resources are scattered around the field, so the first job is to claim them, then turn what you gather into research that unlocks stronger weapons and more technology. The game asks you to look past the front line as well: power, placement, and the flow of materials across your base matter as much as how much firepower you can put down. A well-defended wall with a badly planned layout still loses, because a base that runs out of power gets overrun.

The Onslaught and the Guardians

The core loop is simple to explain and steady to play. Enemy shapes keep coming, your defenses have to keep up, and the end goal is clear: defeat all four guardians and put a stop to the onslaught. Between those goals sit the smaller problems that define a session — where to put buildings, what to unlock next, how to distribute resources so your base does not grind to a halt. The enemies are challenging, but the pressure comes from logistics rather than sheer chaos. If your lines hold and your resources flow, you survive. If either side slips, the shapes push through.

Playing With Friends

Multiplayer is built into the game rather than bolted on, with online co-op and online PvP modes available alongside singleplayer play. Co-op lets a group split the load: some players claim resources and manage the economy, others design the front line and chase the next unlock. That shared logistics layer is where co-op pays off, since one person can be entirely focused on power distribution while another keeps the defenses growing. PvP mode adds a competitive edge for groups who would rather test their bases against each other. It is a good fit for a Discord group that wants a low-pressure game everyone can drop into without a long setup.

Before You Start

Be aware that this is the original, unfinished version of the game — it is the classic edition, so expect the rougher edges that come with an uncompleted build rather than the polish of a finished product. It is described as simple, colorful, casual, and easy to pick up, and the genre mix covers base building, tower defense, economy, resource management, and real-time strategy. The singleplayer path is fully playable on its own if you would rather solve the logistics puzzle at your own pace. Going in, expect to spend as much time planning power grids and building placement as you do aiming weapons, and expect the enemy shapes to keep you honest about both.
