What StarRupture is
StarRupture is a first-person open world game about surviving on a planet that keeps getting torn apart by recurring cataclysms. You land, you gather what you find, and you build up from there. The world is large and full of resources, places to discover and secrets to uncover, and it constantly changes as cataclysms reshape it. Exploration and base building sit at the center: you search, mine and process resources, then turn them into goods that keep your base running and growing. Beyond the environmental hazards, the planet is home to hordes of aggressive alien creatures, so combat is a regular part of daily life rather than an occasional event.
Playing it with friends
You can play alone or in a group of up to 4 friends, with online co-op support. A group splits the workload naturally: some players head out to explore and mine, others stay behind to expand the base and keep the production lines fed. Defending the base from alien hordes is easier when the team covers each other, and everyone benefits from the technologies and infrastructure the group unlocks together. Coordinating who builds what and who guards the perimeter is most of the co-op rhythm here.
What to know before starting
Expect a survival game loop: gather, craft, process, expand, defend. Building is not decorative — your industrial system is what extracts resources and produces the goods you need, so planning production early pays off later. Technology unlocks are what let you and your base handle the planet's harsh conditions, including extreme temperatures, so progression matters for staying alive rather than just for convenience. The cataclysms are recurring, meaning the terrain you know today may not look the same later, which rewards players who keep exploring instead of settling into one fixed spot. StarRupture is in Early Access, so features and content are still being worked on and things may change as development continues.
