What Ultra Foodmess is

Ultra Foodmess is a competitive party game where food characters fight each other across a set of fast, chaotic modes. You explode, shoot, swing, push, dodge and destroy your way through rounds, and the whole thing is built to be picked up quickly: anyone can grab a controller and start playing. The roster is made of food characters, and you pick whichever one you like best to take into the fight. The tone is cartoonish and colorful, with quick-time events mixed into the action.

Playing together

Local multiplayer supports 2 to 4 players on the same setup, so a group sitting around one screen can jump straight in. There are 11 different game modes, each with its own mechanics, which keeps a session from feeling repetitive — you can rotate through modes and see who comes out on top. Steam also lists Remote Play Together, which lets friends join over the internet as if they were local. If your group wants practice before the real arguments start, you can battle against the AI food bots instead.

Before you start

There are unlockables tied to challenges: finish them to earn achievements and open up new characters, so early sessions are partly about building out the roster. The game is tagged as family friendly and casual, and the design leans on simple controls rather than deep systems, which makes it easy to add a new player mid-session. Expect a short learning curve and a lot of back-and-forth between rounds — the point is the mess as much as the win.
