A party built around 32 mini-games

Garfield Lasagna Party drops Garfield, Odie, Arlene and Nermal into a run of quick challenges set across places like Garfield's house, the pizzeria and Liz's veterinary clinic. The mini-games cover a lot of ground: throwing snowballs, running obstacle courses, slicing pizzas and more. Between the rounds you roll dice on a game board, so winning a mini-game is not the only way to get ahead. Items can be used to trip up whoever is in front, which keeps the board from settling into a comfortable order.

How a group plays it together

The game supports up to 4 players, and each player picks one of the four comic characters. Standard mode runs the full board, with mini-games and dice rolls alternating until someone comes out on top. Challenge mode skips the board entirely and lets you fire off your favorite mini-games back to back, which suits a short session or a stretch of practice. Competition mode builds a championship from a set number of mini-games drawn at random and played in quick succession. Remote Play Together is available, so one person can host and others can join in from their own machines.

What to know before starting

The mix of board movement and mini-games means sessions run longer than a plain arcade game, so plan for that if you are picking something for a fixed evening. The item usage and dice rolls add luck on top of skill, so a strong mini-game player can still get knocked back by a bad throw or an opponent's item. The content is family friendly and the tone is comedic, with the cast drawn from the comic strip. Three play modes give you a way to shorten or lengthen a session depending on how much time the group has.
