A co-op puzzle platformer
The Two of Us is a 2D co-op platformer built around working together. You and a friend move through a series of puzzle levels, and each one asks you to coordinate your actions to get through. The game runs in a retro, colorful cartoon style with 2D animations and sound effects, and it includes PvE combat alongside the platforming and puzzles. It is a linear experience, so the levels follow a set path rather than opening up into a big world to explore.
Playing with a friend
The whole game is designed for online co-op, so you team up with one friend and play through the levels together. Since the puzzles depend on both players acting in sync, you will spend most of your time talking to each other about what to do next and timing your moves. The class-based tag points to different roles the two of you can take on, which matters both in the puzzle sections and in the combat encounters where you fight enemies together.
Before you start
Going in, expect a game that leans on communication more than reflexes alone. The levels are puzzle-first, so a run through a stage can stall if one player is unsure what to do, and having voice chat open makes that much smoother. The combat is PvE, meaning you are fighting enemies rather than each other, and it sits alongside the platforming rather than replacing it. It is a short-form, focused experience with a clear start and end to each level rather than a sandbox.
