A Giant Monster Rampage

Terror of Hemasaurus is a retro city smash 'em up where you play as one of four recently defrosted monsters: Hemasaurus, Clocksloth, Salamandrah, or Autonomous Hemasaurus. Each beast has its own killer moves. The Church of the Holy Lizard has unleashed you to inflict terror on humanity, and your job is to cause as much carnage as possible across multiple stages. You can punch buildings, slap helicopters, kick cars, stomp citizens, and eat people for nourishment. The game leans into dark humor and farcical fatalities, so expect plenty of over-the-top violence and comedy as you reduce skyscrapers to dust.

Playing Together With Friends

This is a local co-op game for up to four players. Everyone picks a monster and ramps through the stages together, causing destruction side by side. The action is fast and arcade-style, so you will be working as a team of giant beasts tearing the city apart. Steam's Remote Play Together feature lets friends join in remotely, so you can still team up for local co-op carnage even when you are not in the same room.

What to Know Before Starting

The game is a side-scrolling 2D beat 'em up with physics-based destruction, so expect buildings to topple and pixel debris to fly. Stages give you specific tasks to complete, like kicking cars into buildings, rescuing cats and dogs, or toppling a tower in record time. The tone is colorful but gory, with dark comedy running throughout. It works as a singleplayer experience too, but it is built around local multiplayer mayhem with friends.
