Kaiju brawling on a side-scrolling stage
Dawn of the Monsters is a manga-inspired beat-'em-up where you control a giant monster and tear through invading Nephilim. The Nephilim have landed on Earth, and DAWN (Defense Alliance Worldwide Network) answers with its own colossal fighters: Megadon, Aegis Prime, Tempest Galahad, and Ganira. Each one has its own abilities and play style, so the choice of behemoth changes how a fight feels. The campaign runs across more than 35 missions set in fully destructible cities based on real-world locations, with fierce bosses and dozens of enemy types waiting along the way.
Playing together with friends
The game supports 2-player co-op, so a second person can drop in and fight alongside you through the missions. Steam also lists Remote Play Together, which lets a friend join over the internet as if they were sitting next to you. Beyond that, the tag list includes Local Multiplayer and Co-op, so the game is built around shared play rather than a lone run.
Before you start
Combat leans on Rage abilities, Cataclysm Attacks, and finishing moves to bring down tougher enemies, and DNA augments let you customize your monster between fights. The tag list marks the game as Singleplayer as well, so you can play through the whole thing on your own if no one is available. Expect a side-scrolling structure with open-world tags attached, and pick your behemoth based on how you want to handle the crowds.
